On 28 Aug 2012, a photography exhibition and cocktail party "Soul in a Metropolis" was held at the Kee Club in Central. The event was a partnership between Christian Action’s Chungking Mansions Service Centre (CKMSC), a leading non-profit providing humanitarian support to refugees, and Turner Broadcasting, home to several brands including CNN and Cartoon Network.

The featured photographs are taken by three of Christian Action’s Chungking Mansions Service Centre (CKMSC) refugee and asylum seeker clients from Eritrea, Sri Lanka, and India. They had no prior knowledge of photography, and captured these masterpieces while learning it along the way. Talk about empowerment!

The photographs captured the nuances of Hong Kong, and were sold at the exhibition. Over $350,000 from the proceeds raised that night will go to the new Arts Initiative at the Christian Action Chungking Mansion Service Centre, providing this vulnerable group with a meaningful way to learn, heal and grow.
