The 3rd Three-Legged Charity Walk

For the third year running, Christian Action’s 3-Legged Charity Walk”, which took place on 22 March, 2014 proved to be a fun, entertaining event for all. This year, more than 500 participants and 80 volunteers arrived at The Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club to enjoy the day out, and the warm, sunny weather.

Our guest of honor was Jeanie Leung, the up and coming Hong Kong illustrator who designed the event logo ‘Oowa’, who represents love and hope. Just like angel he is seen to accompany Qinghai orphans on their journey through life. After Jeanie’s first meeting with the Qinghai orphans, she shared how moved she was. Qun, an orphan from Xining Children’s Home was also present at the event. She is currently in Hong Kong having her progress and development reviewed following major surgery a year ago. The crowd was utterly charmed by her sweet smile. Jeanie encouraged everyone present to continue to support this ministry!

This year we held a special feature, the “Treasure Hunt for Charity”, which took place over the Executive Nine Golf Course, where everybody enjoyed themselves as they hunted for ‘gems’. Each person collected as many gems as they could, in an effort to win the grand prize. Christian Action raised over $500,000, and all of the proceeds will go towards our “Friends of Qinghai Children Programme”. The funds support our work in children’s homes which we co-manage in partnership with the Qinghai Civil Affairs Department. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to sponsors and donors. With your assistance, we are able to bring love and hope into the lives of orphans in Qinghai.
