“Transforming Qinghai” Charity Dinner was successfully held at the JW Marriot Hotel on 11 November. Thanks to the participation of over 200 enthusiastic and supportive guests, we have raised nearly HK$2 million!

The night was filled with both fun and tears. The guests were excited to join the lucky draw game, and they enjoyed bidding for a good cause in the silent auction. At the same time, they were all moved by the sharing of Xiao Qun and Rose’s caregivers, both sweet little girls from children’s home in Qinghai suffering from physical disabilities. With the help of CA they are now starting a bright future! Even more touching was the live-chat session between Mrs. Cheung, Muyang (a boy with cerebral palsy and bilateral club feet, adopted to USA in 2012) and his China foster mum via Skype. While we all miss him, we were happy to know he is growing up healthily and happily in his new family.

Another highlight was 5 teenagers who have been participating in our Bridging Programme made the long journey from Qinghai to perform at the dinner. Guests were all impressed by their talents, and they also presented a surprise gift, a drawing specially made by feet by one of the teenagers who has an upper limb disability, to celebrate Christian Action’s birthday!
