Our Mongkok Service Centre for new arrival children’s summer programme includes several fun excursions. Please pray that these children are blessed, and able to receive the love of God shown to them.   4

The Ministry Coordination Team’s summer programme includes a camping trip. Please pray for good weather, good friendship and good memories for these teenagers.

Today Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, will speak at the Asian Baptist Women’s Fellowship Hong Kong’s 12th anniversary celebrations. Pray that she would inspire her sisters in Christ to shine for the Lord!

Thank God for wonderful groups of volunteers, travelling from abroad to love our children and help staff and in Qinghai over the summer. Pray that they will continue to support us after they return to their homes.

Christian Action Asia is considering of setting up an office in the US to execute its action plan. Pray that it will provide a base for better networking with churches, leaders, and organizations in the future.

Please pray that renovations of our new Training Centres continue to progress smoothly as we prepare to bring dynamic training programmes within reach of the unemployed in Mongkok and Sheung Shui.

Praise God! Mrs. Cheung Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, has accepted her nomination to be a candidate in the Hong Kong Loving Hearts Campaign, recognizing Christian Action’s philanthropic work in Qinghai. Pray that she will be selected as one of Hong Kong’s loving hearts.

The CAHK Board will meet today. Pray for unity in spirit of all board members who are totally committed to our mission and vision.

Please pray for safe travels for volunteers travelling to Qinghai in August, that they will feel empowered by their selfless love for the children.

Pray that the Fund Development Advisory and Prayer Team of the Christian Action Asia  in Los  Angeles will recruit representatives from a wide variety of churches and Christian bodies in the U.S. and reap more fruit for our China projects.

The Social Enterprise Division’s green collection programme has several new collection points opening in August. Pray that good-quality items are collected for resale in our charity outlets, to finance our services for the needy.   14

The Training Services Division had another very successful ‘Carnival for Social Inclusion’ in July. Pray that the public will better understand the concepts of community mediation and emotional counseling we are trying to introduce them to.

Please pray for God’s comfort, strength and protection and the swift recovery of two key staff in our Domestic Migrant Worker programme.   16

Please pray that we can recruit suitable, dedicated and competent staff to serve the new arrivals and help them adapt to the community quickly.

Our Ministry Coordination Team will match mentors with their mentees, for the Child Development Fund project. Pray that the Holy Spirit would guide them to make the right matches.

Praise God that He has provided food and the facilities to prepare it for the children in our Mongkok Service Centre for New Arrivals. Pray for the children’s health as we try to supplement their poor diets.

The production of our summary of services for the last two years is in progress. Pray that the work goes smoothly and that the publication helps to generate goodwill among the public.

Our Training Services Division will have several events promoting their services over the next three months, offering guidance for job seekers to secure the jobs they want. Pray that people find jobs that meet their needs and bless their families.

Pray that teachers, students and other volunteers will work together with our service centre staff to serve the foreign domestic helpers and migrant workers better than ever before.

Our busy summer season is coming to an end. Thank God for bringing all our summer programmes designed to meet the needs of our clients to fruition, and that our clients would find Him in thier interactions with our staff.

Please continue to pray for the Training Services Division as they plan their annual Corporate Luncheon – that they will achieve all their objectives and many companies will hire our graduates.

Please keep on praying for closer collaboration between the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), Christian Action and other agencies. That we can serve the refugees and asylum seekers at our Chungking Mansions service centre better.

Pray that the relationship between staff and clients in our ethnic minority programmes continue to strengthen and grow and that our clients will integrate swiftly and harmoniously with their communities.

Please pray for our upcoming Charity Cookie Campaign, that we can collaborate with the best distribution partners, so as to fundraise for our programmes and services in Hong Kong and China.

Our Muslim clients are in the middle of their most holy month, Ramadan. Please pray that they would have hearts that seek God, so that they can find the truth in our Lord Jesus.

A group of new arrival children will visit HK Disneyland today, which for them is a great luxury! Pray that they will be blessed by this outing which many others in privileged positions take for granted.
