Today sees one of the last public sessions organized by Hong Kong Gospel 2017; in which Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, being a member in the organizing committee. She is one of the MCs of the event. Throughout 2017, a series of worships, prayer gatherings and Sunday services were run bilingually.  Pray that all Christians would be united as one Body to spread His message further and wider and many will receive Christ that day.

Christian Action (CA) will host a charity dinner: In God’s Plan today.  May God connect more like-minded supporters to embrace our Qinghai programme whom will be deeply touched by the personal sharings of those two ‘Back to Serve’ ambassadors. The participants will get inspired and reach deep into their pockets to support the needy and impoverished children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Last Sunday we held a carnival in Kwun Tong which was jointly sponsored by Kwun Tong District Council and Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education.  Pray that we strive to play a proactive role in promoting community cohesion through the established community network.

Hallelujah!  Christian Action’s Qinghai Office has been granted foreign NGO status in Qinghai, the very first registration in the province.  Pray that our collaboration with the provincial government flourish to bless even more vulnerable and disabled children there.

Our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre will co-organize a promotional exhibition cum street performance at Star Ferry Pier Tsimshatsui this Sunday afternoon.  Pray that we continue to play an active role in helping the ethnic minorities clients more readily to get integrated into greater Hong Kong’s community.

Today is CA’s annual Christmas party.  Pray that all board members and staff are able to relax and sing “Hosanna! Hosanna!” to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Saviour whom we look to and rely on.

Today our Integrated Employment Assistance Programme Sau Mau Ping Service Centre will conduct an activity sponsored by Kwun Tong District Council that provides info on local resources and fun time for the neighbours.  Pray that our service will empower the deprived and improve community integration.

Sponsored by North District Council, Sheung Shui Centre will organize an excursion to Cheung Chau for 25 new arrival families today who may be constrained to their homes for financial reason. Pray that they will enjoy the event and feel loved and cherished to adapt quickly to a new homeland in Hong Kong.

Yesterday Ministry Coordination Team co-organized a barter trade event with a local church in Long Ping Centre.  Pray that we help instill the idea of environmental protection and foster the community cohesion through our service.

Today Social Enterprise Division will launch a charity sale: 隨意配搭 穿出自我 X Christian Action Charity Drive (a.k.a. My Way: Mix-and-Match) at Kwai Chung Hospital.  Pray that our goodwill will be spread over the territory and CA will stand out as light to the city bringing out the God-colours to the world. Amen!

This Friday will see the closing ceremony of “Embrace the Elegant Life” 《擁抱「資芳」生活》, an initiative funded by the Women’s Commission and hosted by our Training Services Division from August.  The beneficiaries will personally share how they have been equipped to pursue their dreams through our service.

Tomorrow five woman clients from New Arrivals Mongkok Service Centre will volunteer to set up booth for charity sale selling their DIY items and our Seasons of Love Charity Drive: Home.Sweet Home cookies in the office of a corporate partner.  Pray that more service users will understand the conviction: it is more blessed to give than to receive.

Our florist The Olive Leaf will be opened at Tsuen Wan West MTR station this month!   Pray that CA will continue to diversify the income sources to sustain our charity services in different areas.

Our Ministry Coordination Team will invite 50 mentees under its mentorship programme together with their families for an outing to Lamma Island today.  Pray that all participants treasure the precious family time and gradually be motivated to follow Jesus Christ after joining our activities.

80 secondary school students in Kwun Tong participated in various poverty experiential activities under the programme “深知你心” (i.e understanding of your innermost self) which was implemented by Youth Development Service Team in December.  Pray that the young generation will become more sensitive and merciful to the plight of the underprivileged; and indirectly raise their resilience to adversity.

May God bless our efforts to serve job seekers and those seeking career advancement as we have run several training info days about floristry, catering and housekeeping in Kowloon East and New Territories this month. Pray that our dynamic vocational training programmes will be enriching and bring them closer to fulfil their dreams.

Since mid-December, our Ethnic Minorities Service Team in Tuen Mun SHINE Centre has been collaborating with other NGOs on a campaign known as “Good morning, Tuen Mun”: encouraging people to greet each other regardless of their races or ethnicities.  Pray that we strive to partner with different stakeholders to facilitate community inclusion across the city.

We secured funding from a private corporation to support the medical treatments for four teenagers from Qinghai community who suffer from severe diseases.  Pray for their successful and steady recovery upon proper treatments; and we strive to improve the general welfare of the poor children on the Tibetan Plateau.

Our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme team is still looking for an alternative site for one of its shelters with a tight budget.  Pray that the centre users facing hard time will find His comfort, presence and provision through our effort. Amen!

Pray for an enthusiastic response when we garner financial and spiritual support from the States to back up CA’s “Back to Serve” in Qinghai.

Our Ethnic Minorities’ Service Team in Tuen Mun SHINE Centre received a donation of 76 used tablets from the government departments in late October.  They are used for the Centre’s tutorial classes.  Pray that we continue to secure public resources to facilitate our services in one of the poorest areas of Hong Kong.

Our Social Enterprise Division will participate in the 52nd HK Brands & Products Expo in Victoria Park held from today to upcoming Friday. Pray that public awareness will be significantly aroused to support our ministry; and understand this is also a means to fulfill charity work.

Today about 10 undergrads from the Department of Land Surveying of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University will volunteer to play an orienteering game with 10 to 15 children clients from the Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre at Tai Po Waterfront Park. Pray that we will connect with different parties to deliver love and care to the community as a whole.
