Praise God for the wonderful weather for our “Farewell New Horizons Building” carnival in mid-March. Over 600 people enjoyed the precious moments with us.  Pray that our neighbor will learn our mission and vision more through the event and services we provide.

Our training programmes for 2019/20 under the Employees Retraining Board are in full swing now.  Pray that we strive to give our clients quality training and placement packages that enhance their competitiveness in the challenging job-market year after year.

Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre will run a weekly class on art therapy for 8 female clients on welfare benefit. Pray that they will learn how to relax through the pastel painting on Wednesdays; and regain their self-confidence and joy.

Happy Children’s Day!
50 primary school pupils from the underprivileged families served by Christian Action will visit the headquarters of Bank of East Asia and its “Model Bank” this afternoon.  They will attend a workshop themed personal financial management; and followed by a dinner with the volunteers sponsored by the bank. Pray that the beneficiaries would be deeply empowered to repay society in the future.

Today is Ching Ming Festival (or Tomb-sweeping Day).  Some clients under the care of our programmes may return to mainland China to sweep the graves and pay tribute to their ancestors.  Please pray for safe travels and that they would gradually come to know the one true God.

Our Information Technology Department has started its network and AV installation of Christian Action’s new training centre in Choi Wan since mid-March. Pray for His provision and protection for the process so as to render a timely vetting by the Employees Retraining Board soon.

Today is World Health Day. Pray that more public concern will be aroused towards the health of the most marginalized sector in our community; especially the refugees who face tremendous struggles in their daily lives.  Pray that they will get enough spiritual support and comfort from Him through the contact with our staff and service.

Currently, the Christian Action Asia’s (USA) Facebook has amassed about 3,450 visits after launching a new campaign; which is approaching its target of 5,000.  Pray that it will become a substantial support to our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau.

Last weekend, 10 undergrads from the HK Polytechnic University accompanied about 15 ethnic minority children from a primary school to enjoy an excursion “Discovering the Gold Coast Tuen Mun” followed by lunch at the beach.  Pray that the next generation would learn how to treasure and conserve our Lord’s creation.

20 student mentees from our Child Development Fund Mentorship Programme visited 10 families of Chung Uk Tsuen whom would be affected by the resettlement of Hung Shui Kiu New Development Project last Saturday. Pray that the concerned party would feel cherished and cared by the community through our services.

A staff from our China’s programme team will help training the students studying social work at university in Qinghai from now to July.  Pray that the collaboration will enhance the overall children’s welfare on the Tibetan Plateau.

Christian Action Asia (USA) is going to launch its Spring Mailing Campaign this month.  Pray for another round of success garnering a fruitful harvest across the States for the deprived children in Qinghai. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7

Give thanks for connecting a compassionate courier company that provided us free re-packing service! Finally our rehabilitation equipment was successfully delivered to Xining on schedule.

Faith Comes By Hearing Asia (FCBH Asia) and Hong Kong Evangelical Fellowship (HKEF) have jointly launched “One” Hong Kong 2019 Hearing the Word Campaign from 6 March to 21 April to unify the Christians from different churches across the city through His Word.  Pray that hearts would be ignited, transformed and restored as we believe that all Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. Amen!

Praise God for the perfect weather for our 7th 3-Legged Charity Walk held at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club last month. Over 800 people came to enjoy fun and games while raising funds for our ministry to help the disadvantaged families in Hong Kong and disabled children in Qinghai.

Yesterday was the last day of Lent and today is Good Friday.  May our staff meditate on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.  Hope that we will be inspired by His word, His sacrificial example and His presence; and that we will uphold our vision and mission with passion and conviction.

Please pray for our Centre for Refugees (CFR)’s Employability Programme that aims to help recognized refugees to seek jobs in Hong Kong upon the approval of the Director of Immigration.  May the beneficiaries be blessed to regain their dignity and find hope again through the programme.  Amen!

A music therapist from Hong Kong is volunteering in our Xining Children’s Home and Social Welfare Institute this week to help the needy children. She will also run workshops for the care givers.  Pray that more volunteers from different professions will join us to empower the disadvantaged groups on the Tibetan Plateau.

From now to June, Sheung Shui Centre will carry out a job-related matching for the clients on welfare benefit. Pray that the beneficiaries will be better equipped through the process and re-enter the job market with strength and direction.

This week, our Tuen Mun SHINE Centre will host a series of cultural and educational events featuring different traditional festivals such as Easter and Songkran (a.k.a. Thailand’s New Year) through games and videos. Pray that we help foster mutual understanding between ethnicities so as to build a more inclusive society.

Today and tomorrow, 8 CDF student mentees will participate in a 2-day workplace experiential programme.  The beneficiaries will learn more job knowledge and skills in different professions like catering, accountancy and health care services. Pray that they will be enhanced to pursue their dreams.

Exhibitions on our Red Packet for Every Home campaign will be launched at different schools next month. Pray that more people will be moved to support this campaign and send blessings to the needy community in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

Glory to Our Lord!
Today is the last day of the service trip of 16 medical professionals and others from the  HK Cornerstone Association.  They have visited Qinghai for almost a week to conduct free cleft palate surgeries for the children in need.  Pray that more professionals will join us to embrace the ministry in Qinghai.

Collaborating with AIDS Concern, our Migrant Domestic Workers Team will conduct the 2nd round “Women’s Health Education and Check-up Day” in Jordan comprising a health talk on sex education and a simple medical check up this afternoon. Pray that this will inspire more organizations to partner with us to empower these women in need.
