Today marks a hearing at the Magistrate Court for one of our shelter clients of the Migrant Domestic Workers Programme who has been stressed by the court case for some time.  Please pray for His mercy, comfort and justice at this difficult moment.

The Social Enterprise Division will launch the green collection initiative at the Education University of Hong Kong today.  Pray that our ministry will spread wider and further to our next generation especially on campus. May His name be glorified!

This July, our Ethnic Minorities Integrated Services Woosung Street Centre is conducting a series of 4 lessons for its young clients to build up a model through 3-D printing. Pray that this will help the EM children unlock their potential in creativity; train up their communication skills and team building; and that they will feel how cherished they are in God’s eyes.

Tomorrow will see the completion of the “English Connect Programme”, an initiative run by the International Christian Assembly Manna Ministry for 40 children and 5 women from our New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre.  Pray that more churches would embrace our mission to be salt and light of the city.

Today our Training Services Division will co-organize a Family Day Camp at our headquarters, with a primary school in To Kwa Wan, for the parent-student pairs of the school. Pray that the public would learn about our efforts to enhance community cohesion through different activities.

Since this May, Christian Action has been proactively engaging various stakeholders to visit our new Choi Wan Headquarters to introduce our upgraded facilities, enhanced training courses and service programmes. Pray for effective community networking so that we can further reach out to serve the unserved. Amen!

A crew of 3 professors and 24 undergrads studying Traditional Chinese Medicine in the Hong Kong Baptist University will voluntarily serve in Qinghai children’s homes and the Social Welfare Institute this week.    Pray that we collaboratively help enhance child-care service for the abandoned and disabled children on the Tibetan Plateau.

40 of our beneficiary children from deprived families was sponsored last Sunday to enjoy a whole-day activity: making mosquito repellent in the morning; enjoying Korean grill for lunch; and attending a workshop on environmental conservation in the afternoon. May they feel empowered through joining our activities.

Today the results of the 2019 HK Diploma of Secondary Education Examination are released.  May God bless all the students with His peace, strength and wisdom to choose the right path that is pleasing to our Lord.  Amen!

This morning, our Sheung Shui Service Centre will host a parenting workshop to give powerful tips for parent-child communication during an era of information explosion. Pray that all of them will learn some effective and pragmatic parenting skills so as to enjoy the precious family time in this e-Generation age.

Our Ministry Coordination Team will conduct some activities to help the mentee students of form 3 or above to forge their career paths. Two service sectors such as nursing and cooking will be introduced; and a chance for deeper understanding through workplace experience will be offered. Pray that this would better prepare them for personal development in future.

A family day tour to Luk Keng in Fanling will be launched today for over 100 mentees and their families under the Child Development Fund. Pray that all participants are uplifted to improve their inter-generational bonding and communication through our activities.

Yesterday afternoon, Tuen Mun SHINE Centre held a mini-carnival, which included performances and game booths in Yau Oi Square, for the neighbours. Pray that our services would foster cultural understanding and community integration.

We will launch our summer childcare services in both the New Arrivals Mong Kok Service Centre and the Choi Wan Centre for 35 kids. Thanks to Yau Yat Chuen Garden City Club, which will generously offer free lunch boxes twice a week for the summer programme.  Pray that we strive to lessen the grass-roots families’ burden of taking care of their children, as they have to work long hours to subsist.

Our Corporate Development and Communications Division is strategizing the fund raising campaigns viz. the Seasons of Love Charity Drive 2019/20 and the Red Packet for Every Home. Pray that the invitations sent out would receive a warm response and reap abundant fruit to sustain our ministries in Qinghai and Hong Kong.

Thanks should be given to all volunteers and supporters for running the activities throughout the World Refugee month in June.   Today is the World Day for International Justice. May God share His mercy, love to His followers, and remind all Hong Kong people that refugees’ identities are as His beloved children. Amen!

In this month, our Training Services Division will conduct a seminar and several workshops to promote its diverse vocational training programme in industries such as coffee brewing, catering, tourism and Chinese desserts making. Pray that we continue to equip those seeking better future career paths.

Please continue to pray for His wisdom and protection as our China Programme team is strategizing a new training centre with the local community in Xining. May He connect more generous donors and compassionate local stakeholders to support this initiative to help the youth on the Tibetan Plateau.

Praise God! The pairing up of our 7th phase Child Development Fund mentorship programme for Tseung Kwan O District has been completed.  Pray that each mentor-and-mentee pair will develop a long-lasting friendship that will motivate the youth to live out a God purposeful life.

Summer vacation has begun. 
A lot of children from the new arrival families have to return to their home towns; or else they may be left home alone because many of their parents have to work long hours. Pray for a safe trip for each one of them!

We are one of the beneficiary NGOs invited to collect unsold books left by the exhibitors of the Hong Kong Book Fair 2019 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre over the past week. Pray that this will help arouse public awareness towards our diverse ministries.

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, our Executive Director, will lead a group of guests from Malaysia for a vision-sharing trip to Qinghai. Pray that our guests and supporters will be personally touched by the plight of the disabled and abandoned children and be driven to support our “Friends of Qinghai” programme both spiritually and financially in future.

May God raise more committed and like-minded friends to join Christian Action UK to support our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau. Pray for His inspiration, particularly when we are planning the next steps to advance forward, when our children will be moving to social welfare institutes via the bridge programme when they reach the age of 18. Hooray! Christian Action Asia (USA) has garnered 4,337 followers on Facebook. Pray that they will achieve their target of 5,000 by the end of this month; and that this will develop into a strong support system for our ministry in Qinghai.

The Sheung Shui Centre is geared up to carrying out job-related matching for our clients on welfare benefit this summer. Pray that more kind-hearted employers/organizations will collaborate with us to share God’s love and the beneficiaries will be better equipped through the process and re-enter the job market with dignity and strength.

Our Social Enterprise Division has co-organized a month long green collection campaign with the Yau Yat Chuen Garden City Club this July.  May God bring in more collaborators to educate the public about the importance of recycling in environmental protection.

Our China programme team is organizing a 3-day summer camp for about 20 students from Tongren National Senior High School, Huangnan Prefecture starting from today. Topics such as the impacts of social media, violence, pornography, and sex education will be covered. Pray that they will feel cherished, cared for and enriched to live their lives to the fullest.

Today 18 youth from the welfare beneficiary families of Sau Mau Ping Integrated Employment Assistance Service Centre are given a chance to select 20 books free of charge at a charity book fair.  Pray that they will be uplifted and prepared for a brighter and better future through extensive reading.
