Yesterday our Employment Support Services On Tai Service Centre conducted a workshop themed better intergenerational communication in parenting. Pray that the participants would personally experience the divine love through self-exploration; and that it eventually helps unlock their potential so that they will treasure their talents as special gifts from our Lord.

Praise God! Thank you so much to all generous donors! We successfully raised over HK$1.9 million - more than twice our initial fundraising target after a month of the dreadful fire at our Centre for Refugees on 29 August. Pray for His wisdom and guidance in the follow-up renovation process.

Today our Long Ping Service Centre will organize an event known as ”Different Perspectives of playing games打機面面體” for 50 Child Development Programme clients. This aims at exploring different reasons for being addicted to electronic gadgets or gaming for the children. Pray that we will impart the importance of smart parenting in this digital era.

Starting from today, the On Tai Service Centre will organize 5 lessons on art therapy for 10 clients on welfare benefits in the neighbourhood every Wednesday. Pray that their holistic health and wellness would be improved through this art project; and they learn how to shed their burdens on Our Lord as He cares for every one of us.

A trial run of our food station providing nutritious meal boxes from a vending machine to feed grass-roots families was launched at our Mong Kok Service Centre in early October. Please continue to support our “Emergency Food!” programme that aims to feed 1,000 persons in need.

The recent coronavirus outbreak has seriously affected the socio-economic conditions of Hong Kong. Many of our Child Development Fund Mentorship Programme client families have suffered lay-offs or wage cuts. They have great difficulties in fulfilling the Target Saving plan scheduled to end this month. Pray that they continue to have steadfast faith in God’s presence and protection despite the challenges they face ahead.       

Our Long Ping Service Centre will conduct an activity themed ”Different Perspectives of stress management壓力管理面面體” for a total of 80 mentees and mentors of the Child Development Programme in these 2 days. Pray that we will help them reduce their pressure, so they can have a more positive outlook through fervent prayers and petition.

Today our Ethnic Minorities (EM) Woosung Street Service Centre will conduct a tram ride on HK Island named Explore Hong Kong on wheels. It aims to foster cultural understanding and celebrate ethnic diversity. Hopefully, all 8 participants, including EM clients and volunteers, will enjoy this precious time during this epidemic.

Today is World Adoption Day! We want to bless our adopted children and their forever families in China and worldwide.
Pray that displaced and abandoned children especially in Qinghai would be blessed to be adopted by loving families; and all of them feel cherished and treasured through their adopted families! Support us through “Friends of Qinghai”. 

Facing great demand from the community, our Corporate Development & Communications Division desperately needs committed and qualified staff to join the team. Pray for God’s intervention so that we strive to fill up the service gaps to our beloved society. 

Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei JP, our Executive Director, attended the United Nation’s Global Innovation Workshop - Digni online over the past 3 days. Pray that she strives to play a proactive role to partner with others in achieving a better and more sustainable future for our ministries in Hong Kong and Qinghai.

An organization will be giving out some disinfectant protective kits to the deprived families under the care of our Mong Kok Service Centre this month.  Pray that the beneficiaries will feel cared for by the community especially during this crisis.  

Starting from today, our Training Services Division will kick off a 10-session project named "Digital Power Up (數碼生活Power Up)" at our Digital Learning Centre for our neighbours. Pray that they will be enriched to keep abreast of the new era through our training and retraining services.

Our Information Technology Department is preparing technical support for the on-line platform and e-payment system for our Season of Love 2020-21. Pray for its smooth operation and successful launch this month.

As our fundraising income dropped considerably because of the coronavirus outbreak, we are in desperate need of donations. At present, about 70 donation boxes are placed in different shops of our long-standing corporate partners. Please join us to pray for His provision for our charity work and ministries and that donors would be generous with their contributions.    

Our Child Development Fund Mentorship Programme will enter into the implementation stage of the Personal Development Plan when the mentees are coached to realize their dreams through walking with their mentors and our team workers. Pray that we help impart the right life values to them; and they will eventually decide to pursue a God-pleasing life.

Our Sheung Shui Centre has just secured a public funding to carry out the “School-based After-school Learning & Support Programme” for 7 primary school pupils from now to March 2021. The children meet 4 times weekly to learn social skills and receive academic tutoring. Pray that we will better serve the disadvantaged in one of the poorest districts of Hong Kong.

Give thanks to St Andrew’s & Bartholomew’s Churchdown for their continued support towards Christian Action UK in upholding our ministry in Qinghai. Pray for more Christians across the country to embrace our ministry to help the deprived and handicapped children on the Tibetan Plateau.

A private clubhouse has been generously giving out snack sets to a total of 110 beneficiaries from both the Mong Kok Service Centre and Choi Wan Centre once a week till the end of this month. Pray that more enterprises will partner with us to show love and care to the disadvantaged and needy.

Today is Mentor Day in which CA participates as one of the co-organizers of mentorship programmes. Pray that more committed and compassionate Christians would be inspired to embrace our Child Development Fund Mentorship Programme and become mentors, through which the younger generation would be impacted to live out a God purposeful life.

Our annual fundraiser, Season of Love Charity Drive 2020, will kick off in November.  Let’s pray in unison for His presence, providence and wisdom throughout the campaign. We earnestly need your prayers and support.

Praise God! One of our shelter clients under the Migrant Domestic Workers Programme succeeded in settling her labour tribunal case last month. Please continue to pray for another client whose court hearing has been adjourned to tomorrow. May God bless her to overcome all challenges with a gentle and hopeful spirit.

May God inspire and direct Christian Action Asia (USA) as they will hold their Board meeting today.  Pray that their strategies are based on His plan and they witness as Jesus Christ’s followers who care for our disabled and disadvantaged children on the Tibetan Plateau. 

This month, our Tuen Mun SHINE Centre has conducted 2 workshops themed healthy lifestyle - learning more about drugs; and how to stay away from drug addiction, for ethnic minority new arrivals. Pray that the beneficiaries will feel empowered to adapt to the new environment more easily.

In this month, our Training Services Division has organized several activities promoting our Employees Retraining Board’s training programmes including healthcare and massage, after-school care service, etc.  Pray that we offer job seekers more updated career information and new job opportunities.

The Social Enterprise Division has been launching various green collection campaigns in Kowloon East during weekends throughout November. Pray that we strive to promote environmental preservation through our persistent endeavors.

Christian Action Asia (USA) is launching the Fall Mail Campaign now. May God bless them to bring in much needed finances and establish donor relationships that we need to sustain the Friends of Qinghai Children Programme. Amen!
