Starting from this Friday, we will organize a series of events themed “Vibrant and Joyful Wong Tai Sin (WTS)” or 《喜動樂活黃大仙》for our beloved neighbours which include seminars and workshops on holistic art therapy, mindfulness, stretching exercises, healthy diet and others as sponsored by the WTS District Board. Pray for His presence and inspiration to address the needs of our community through our services.

This afternoon, we will co-organize an event with a private enterprise to advocate "Building up a Healthy Foundation", which includes a talk and an upcycling workshop for about 25 children, under our afterschool child-care programme, at our headquarters. Pray that all participants would understand the importance of staying fit and healthy as our body is also a temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Today is Mentor Day in which CA participates as one of the co-organizers of a faith-based mentorship programme. Pray that more committed and compassionate Christians would be inspired to walk with the student mentees and their families and become mentors themselves, that together we instill God’s values in the younger generation so they would be impacted to live out a purposeful and Godly life.

Some young adults of the kitchen’s group under the Social Welfare Institute’s Bridge Programme in Qinghai will attend a cooking class today and then another workshop on 23rd of this month. Pray that they enjoy the activities and are empowered to grow stronger and better as independent adults.

This October, our CDF On Tai Service Centre has organized a special movie "Zero to Hero" for about 120 mentees, mentors and mentee’s parents, which was shown in 2 separate sessions. Pray that the beneficiaries would be impacted to seek God and choose to walk on a God-pleasing path in the future.

A social worker intern has joined our Sheung Shui Service Centre since mid-September; and will be interning at the centre for half a year. Pray that both the intern and Christian Action (CA) will benefit from the programme as a whole.

It is run regularly every Saturday morning with our partner churches that offer volunteer tutors and a venue benefiting about 50 children from grassroots families in our neighbourhood. Pray that we continue to deliver light and hope to the needy as we follow Jesus Christ’s example. Amen!

Today is the last day of a one-month-long green collection campaign being co-organized with a property management corporation. Give thanks for its generous in-kind donation of 100 food packs for the poor; and for launching a collection campaign to gather mooncake tin cans, used stuff such as clothes, toys and stationery from the property management staff. Pray that such collaboration helps impart the message of 3Rs to the general public: “Reuse, Recycle and Reduce to conserve God’s creation”.

Several clients from our Migrant Domestic Workers have submitted their new work permit applications. Pray that they will find good employers and would have peaceful minds; feel cherished and cared for through our efforts and all of them will soon be allowed to work again in the city.

Under the current emigration tide, some of our partner churches of the CDF mentorship programme face a dilemma due to the exodus. This may negatively impact the operation of the programme in terms of availability of mentors and financial support. Pray for our steadfast faith in His provision and protection always! Amen.

Our Sheung Shui Centre has organized a series of basic job empowerment programmes, both offline and online, for our clients on welfare benefits covering the scope of inter-personal communication, interview skills, employment ordinance and job market information over the last 3 consecutive Wednesdays. Pray that we continue to provide more need-oriented initiatives for the unemployed in one of the most impoverished districts of HK.

Our Training Services Division will co-organize an experiential auxiliary police force tour tomorrow morning for about 20 EM youth. A sharing session will be conducted by experienced Auxiliary Police staff; test demos on use of Chinese and physical fitness will be given and equipment and tactics used will be shown. Pray that we continue to empower them so they adapt better to the community.

In October, our On Tai Service Centre has been actively searching for job opportunities for our clients on welfare support in different trades and shops like the luncheonettes, restaurants, nursing homes for elders and other retail shops in the district. Pray that they would be empowered and employed through our efforts.

Due to the epidemic, many of our formerly planned events under the 7th-phase CDF mentor programme were seriously affected by a low participation rate. We will be allowed to extend the project for 4 more months till 31st March 2022. Pray for His continuous inspiration and strength in implementing the programme that helps bring the mentor-and-mentee pairs closer; and that the relationship will thrive well beyond the programme.
