Our Christian Action (CA) Celebration Ceremony was successfully held last month. All our guests rejoiced to see God’s blessings to our neighbourhood through our Headquarters. Pray that we strive to serve our community as salt and light; and to honour His name.

Many children from our Mong Kok Service Centre and other children’s support programmes are sitting for their internal final examinations this month. Pray that all of them will concentrate on their studies and do their best.

Today, 15 student mentees will hike on the Pineapple Dam Nature Trail. Pray that all of them will enjoy the nature walk; and feel cherished by our Lord when walking together with our colleagues and their mentors from the Child Development Fund (CDF) Mentorship Programme.

Thank God for the wonderful weather for our 3-Legged Charity Walk in May. Praise God for drawing a large crowd of participants that also raised some funds for CA. Pray that we garner more support for our ministries for the under-privileged families in Hong Kong and the disabled children in Qinghai. And we believe what He said to us, "My grace is sufficient for you..." 2 Corinthians 12:9a

The Information Technology Department will soon relaunch our online recurring donation drive. Let us pray for smooth progress and for the success of the whole project to raise part of the funds for CA.

Upon the resumption of cross-border travel and other measures, our China programme team is planning some visits to our children’s homes in Qinghai which are co-managed with the local authority. Pray for God’s inspiration, direction, as well as seamless communication and cooperation with our team and the authority.

Our Sheung Shui Service Centre will conduct an experiential dessert making class today at our headquarters to promote the Employee Training Board (ERB) to its welfare benefit clients. Pray that the participants would be better equipped by these career-exploration initiatives and re-enter the job market with vigor and skills.

Our Ethnic Minorities (EM) Youth Ambassador team will continue to co-organize volunteer training with a secondary school this month to identify some famous attractions in Hong Kong that they could organize visits to for EM children. Pray that we strive to empower them to adapt to the community with ease and joy.

Answered prayer
Praise God! Our first grand job fair this year titled “Warm-up Exercise for career pursuit” 「職業熱身賽」at the Yue Man Square last month received an overwhelming response that offered 2,800 employment opportunities covering over 42 trades/industries. Pray that we strive to offer well-tailored vocational training programmes and the latest labour market information for job seekers.

Soaring inflation has aggravated the livelihood problems of our service users mainly from grassroots families. Pray that we garner enough financial support via CA’s Consumption Vouchers Programme or Friends of Christian Action to continuously bring hope and to bless the less fortunate through our ministries.

Yesterday, EM Youth Ambassador team organized an activity based on old school games once popular in Hong Kong, India and Pakistan and will hold another one on 24th June. Pray that our endeavor to promote cultural exchange transcending ethnicity, race and age will bring about community cohesion and mutual understanding.

Our Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) Programme team will co-organize with another NGO a medical-related booth offering free health check-ups for the MDWs in Shatin this Sunday. Pray that the ladies who have to work far away from their homeland will feel cherished and cared for.

From June to August, a social work student intern from the Chinese University of HK has been joining our Sheung Shui Service Centre. Pray that both the intern and CA will benefit from this internship programme.

This afternoon, Mrs. Cheung, in her capacity as Chairman of the Justice and Social Concern Committee (JSCC) under the HK Christian Council (HKCC), will hold a meeting. May God guide her words and steps; and continue to use JSCC for peace and justice in these challenging times.

Our Employment Support Services (EmSS) On Tai Service Centre team will begin to provide free meals for about 20 grassroots families in the neighbourhood this week. Pray that we help deliver warmth and care to them and they will gradually understand that “humankind cannot live by bread alone, but also by everything that comes from the Lord’s mouth.” Deuteronomy 8:3

Tomorrow is the graduation ceremony of the “English Connect Programme”, an initiative run by the International Christian Assembly Manna Ministry, for 40 children from our Mong Kok Service Centre. Pray that more churches would support our mission.

Our EM Ambassador Scheme for EM Youths Programme team continues to conduct the Chinese enhancement and Cantonese learning classes for the EM youths this month. Pray that we strive to empower them to get integrated into the community with greater ease.

The Social Enterprise Department has been conducting several green collection campaigns in Kowloon East this month. Pray that we continue to advocate environmental protection through our persistent efforts.

Our Long Ping Service Centre (LPSC) has been successfully chosen as one of the referral agencies for the Red Cross Food Voucher Programme since this June. About 35 beneficiary grassroots families will receive some cash coupons to feed their families for a couple of months upon LPSC’s assessment and endorsement. Pray that we continue to bless the needy through our partnership with different organizations so that they may feel Godly love through our ministry.

Our Centre for Refugees will host the Refugee Sunday at PMQ Central today for refugees and asylum seekers. Pray that this will arouse more public concern towards these sojourners who are anxiously waiting in the city to be resettled elsewhere.

Our CDF team at On Tai Service Centre will conduct a drama workshop this week. 16 student mentees from the 9th-phase CDF (CDF9) mentorship programme will join the workshop. Pray that all participants will enjoy themselves, explore their potential, and eventually feel how precious they are in the eyes of God.

Our Board meeting will be held this evening. Pray for His direction, protection, and providence for CA through our dedicated board members who embrace our mission and vision for the vulnerable and needy both in HK and Qinghai.

Our new community sales outlet in Nam Cheong was opened this month!
