Conventionally the World Day of Prayer is scheduled to be held every March; and will be held today. Through the campaign, Christians from over 170 countries always gather to worship and pray for justice and peace. May Godly hope and love dwell in every Christian heart all over the world so that as Christians we can make significant changes for the better.

Yesterday our Long Ping Service Centre (LPSC) team collaborated with some partner churches of Northwest New Territories in a workshop titled “Coffee Corner” where attendees learned how to make some traditional drinks such as Hongkong-style milk tea and lemon tea. Pray that they will continue to team up with different local churches and other stakeholders to bless the community with warmth and hope.

Women especially refugees and Migrant Domestic Worker mothers estranged from their families by choice or by chance may feel even more stressed at this difficult time. We are placing donation boxes in some local chain store groups on a regular basis. Pray for His connection with more corporates to join this initiative and that we will garner enough financial support for our ministries in this critical moment. Every dollar matters to us and our beneficiaries!

Our Employment Support Services-OTSC has been cooperating with several corporate groups in the catering and cleaning fields to hold related job recruitment activities. Pray that we strive to equip our clients on welfare benefits to secure a permanent job soon.

Our TSD’s team and corporate partners, trainers and trainees have won some awards from the Employees Retraining Board (ERB). All these awards will be presented tomorrow at the ERB Award Presentation Ceremony 2023. Pray that such partnerships will publicize our shared social responsibility to bless the community year after year.

40 Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupils from the Mong Kok Service Centre will visit a local bank headquarters in Quarry Bay today; and then attend an integral art and IT workshop in Tai Koo Place. Pray that the activity will broaden their horizon and they will feel loved and cherished by the community through our ministry.

Our Ethnic Minorities (EM) Youth Ambassador team has organized different classes including cycling, sports, board games and others for the EM clients. Pray that our efforts to help the EM youth to unleash their potential through different activities is successful, and that they understand how precious they are in the eyes of Our Lord; and live out a colourful and vibrant life. Today sees an excursion titled “Smart Team” in Kam Tin hosted by our Sheung Shui Service Centre for its twenty beneficiary children. Please pray that the activity will aid in improving the overall well-being of the clients from holistic personal development to interpersonal communication skills and team building.

Many of our clients especially those living in sub-divided units in Hong Kong, are seriously affected by the post-epidemic economic downturn; and thereby suffering from financial and emotional hardship. Pray that our ministries for the disadvantaged sector always present a united front, that we follow Christ’s example. Amen!

Today is Good Friday! As we meditate on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ, please remember two of our CA staff who passed away last month. Let’s pray for God’s comfort upon the deceased’ families. Pray also that He will protect our teammates as we steadfast in helping the needy.
