Through the campaign, Christians from over 170 countries always gather to worship and pray for justice and peace. Yesterday our Long Ping Service Centre (LPSC) team collaborated with some partner churches of Northwest New Territories in a workshop titled “Coffee Corner” where attendees learned how to make some traditional drinks such as Hongkong-style milk tea and lemon tea. Pray that they will continue to team up with different local churches and other stakeholders to bless the community with warmth and hope.

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) completed the overall review of the Child Development Fund (CDF) Programme, and the recommendations were also endorsed by the CDF’s Steering Committee. Christian Action (CA) has been participating in the Programme as a frontline service provider since its inception. Pray for His continuous guidance and insight to help with the holistic personal development of the younger generation from the deprived sector through our service as we uphold what Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

The project team of the Home Affairs Department will visit ten collection sites in Kwun Tong under the Community Used Clothes Recycling Bank Scheme, in which CA is the scheme manager in Kowloon district. Pray that our green advocacy effort would further arouse public concern in conserving our environment and God’s creation as a whole.

Some of our woman clients from the Mong Kok Service Centre will host a charity stall at our 3-Legged Charity Nordic Walk this Saturday; and they will hold a workshop on how to make DIY mosquito repellents. Pray that the clients will personally understand the essence of what the scripture says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35 by serving as volunteers.

Women especially refugees and Migrant Domestic Worker mothers estranged from their families by choice or by chance may feel even more stressed at this difficult time. May Our Lord give them resilience, patience, faith and hope to withstand challenges and destitution in HK. Please uphold these women in your prayers.

To signify International Women’s Day, our Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) Programme team will host an event today at our headquarters to showcase the handicrafts of our clients. Pray that we strive to help the MDWs in need who work far away from their hometowns to earn a living so that they feel the community care and love through our service.

Our CDF On Tai Service Centre (OTSC) organized an event on sex education last Saturday which was attended by about forty student mentees. They will hold another this upcoming Saturday. Pray that we strive to impart right and healthy values about gender relations to our next generation; and they would choose to live a God-pleasing life in the future.

Over this month, the Training Services Division (TSD) has been running several promotional events about training opportunities especially for the middle-aged sector in various fields such as property management, health care, Traditional Chinese Medicine and others across the city. Pray that more people will be enriched by what they learn and prepared to enter the job market; and secure a long-term job soon.

We will host a tea gathering at our headquarters this afternoon with the District Officer, District Council members & community leaders, etc., in Wong Tai Sin. May God bless our potential collaboration to explore new opportunities and implement some need-oriented services in future. Amen!

Our Social Enterprise Department launched various activities under “Green Collection Charity Drives” in different private housing estates in our neighbourhood this month. Pray that our goodwill would spread further throughout Hong Kong and more people would embrace our green collection programme.

Our TSD’s team and corporate partners, trainers and trainees have won some awards from the Employees Retraining Board (ERB). All these awards will be presented tomorrow at the ERB Award Presentation Ceremony 2023. Pray that such partnerships will publicize our shared social responsibility to bless the community year after year.

Our TSD is holding a 2-day job fair at Citywalk Tsuen Wan since yesterday. It will offer employment opportunities in different sectors. Pray that our consistent effort in providing vocational training programmes and job market information will empower job seekers and those seeking job advancements.

Pray that all participants will be well-informed of the instructions, procedures and values of this funding; and they would live out a purposeful God pleasing life through this impactful programme.

40 Special Educational Needs (SEN) pupils from the Mong Kok Service Centre will visit a local bank headquarters in Quarry Bay today; and then attend an integral art and IT workshop in Tai Koo Place. Pray that the activity will broaden their horizon and they will feel loved and cherished by the community through our ministry.

Sheung Shui Service Centre will conduct a career talk on Security Guard Services. About ten clients on welfare benefits will attend the talk. Pray that the clients obtain updated and valuable job information so as to adapt smoothly in the job.

Our Ethnic Minorities (EM) Youth Ambassador team has organized different classes including cycling, sports, board games and others for the EM clients. Many of our clients especially those living in sub-divided units in Hong Kong, are seriously affected by the post-epidemic economic downturn; and thereby suffering from financial and emotional hardship. Pray that our ministries for the disadvantaged sector always present a united front, that we follow Christ’s example. Amen!
