Praise God, giving thanks for the perfect weather and smooth implementation of a cultural exchange and volunteer service conducted by our Child Development Fund On Tai Service Centre (CDF-OTSC) recently in Macau. Pray that our ministry would broaden their life horizons; and they personally can experience what scripture says about serving: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35 Amen!

Our Qinghai China programme team has recently conducted the summer camp at Shuangzhai Village for our children who enjoyed a wonderful and fruitful time. Pray that more members of the public will learn of our efforts to uplift the holistic personal development of needy children from the deprived sector; and that our goodwill would spread out. Amen!

Our Social Enterprise Department was invited to engage in the 2024 Book Recycling Programme, after the annual book fair held last week at the HK Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Pray that we can continue to collect good-quality recycled books for the children of our after-school care service centres; so that they would feel empowered and experience being cared for, through our ministry.

Our CDF - Long Ping Service Centre (LPSC) has run a camp for some young Christian mentees this week, so as to strengthen their spiritual wellbeing and relationship with our Lord and others. Pray that every participant will cherish the precious camping opportunity, gain adventurous experience and choose to walk on a God - pleasing path in future.

Congratulations!
Christian Action (CA) has again been awarded for remarkable performance in a ‘Self-Evaluation’ exercise of the current annual audit, under the Employees Retraining Board’s (ERB) training programme. Meanwhile, CA is awarded the Grand Prize and will attend the 2024 Manpower Developer Award Presentation Ceremony at HKCEC this afternoon. Pray that our efforts will empower trainees / job-seekers to enter the job market with vigour, skills and confidence. Amen!

Please continue to pray earnestly for the smooth construction and timely handover of the “Diversity Hub”, at Chung King Mansions. This is a collaborative project with our Centre for Refugees and the University of Hong Kong, to set-up an archive museum about the EMs in Hong Kong. Pray that we will continue, striving to achieve social cohesion and mutual understanding, through our persistent effort. Amen!

The CATS-Alumni Club of our Training Services Division launched an excursion to Cheung Chau Island for its members yesterday. Pray that all beneficiaries are able to stay tuned to the labour market, through our well - tailored vocational training and re-training programmes. Amen!

Co-organized with other stakeholders, CA will hold the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China cum health talk on eye-care for senior neighbours, in the district at our Headquarters today. Pray that as we strive to serve the residents, our efforts to aid the disadvantaged sector may be recognized as we follow Jesus Christ’s example.

Today let’s celebrate the International Youth Day (IYD), which is signified by the United Nations since 2000; with a view to promoting cultural and legal issues focusing on youth. Pray that our government will strategize sensitive policies to cater for the needs of the younger generation, particularly for youth with Special Education Needs (SEN); and that they would be equipped better, to embark on an independent and bright life in the future.

Some of our youth clients on welfare benefits have to face the change in their status after DSE, as they may either opt for further study or join the job market. Pray that as we strive to deliver warmth and care for them, they will be coached to seek God as their divine deliverer and provider.

Our Ethnic Minorities Youth Ambassador (EMAm) team arranges different activities, both indoors and outdoors, including: baking class, photo session, picnic and cycling for our EM youth. Pray that all beneficiaries will enjoy the cool summer time and that we can continue to help them in self-enhancement through our ministry. So that all of them will feel being cared for and are able to be integrated into the community with ease.

Our Social Enterprise Department recently hosted a community green carnival sponsored by the Housing Authority in Cheung Sha Wan. Pray that we can continue to promote environmental preservation and bless the community with warmth and hope.

Our CDF-LPSC will form a new band training group for the student mentees who will practice every Friday in August. Pray that all participants will enjoy this, explore their potential and eventually grow in confidence and become stronger to face the challenges ahead.

Give thanks for the donors. Hundreds of our clients from the grassroots families under the child-care programme of Mong Kok Service Centre (MKC), will go for an excursion at a theme park in Hong Kong this August. Pray that they will treasure and enjoy this precious family time, as they could otherwise hardly afford such an outing, with their meagre household income.

Some of our mentees from the CDF - LPSC will participate the Youth-Work Explorer programme (Y-WE) this summer, including the fields of artificial intelligence, auto-repair, to health and medical service. Hopefully, these opportunities will help them to explore their potential and map out their future career path. Pray that they understand how special they are and how much our Lord treasures them. Amen!

Micah 6:8 May Godly hope and love dwell in every Christian heart all over the world to embrace the most marginalised sector in the community including the refugees, internally displaced people, migrants and host communities. Love never fails. Amen!

Today our Sheung Shui Service Centre will launch an initiative on laughing yoga, combining laughter exercises with yogic breathing techniques, for the clients on welfare benefits. Pray that through our introduction of various methods and exercises, we can help them to relieve their daily pressures, bring about therapeutic benefits; thus promoting their holistic wellbeing. Pray that they would feel cared for and can understand being cherished, through our ministry. Amen!

Echoing with STEM-themed education, our MKC will conduct a gadget workshop powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) for some primary school pupils. Pray that we, by continuing to stimulate the younger generation in self-exploration, can unleash their potential and that they will realize how precious they are in the eyes of Our Lord.

A new centre-in-charge joins our shelter under the Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) Programme in late July. Pray for her quick adaptation to this new working environment. Since mid-July, our government has commenced the public consultation on the upcoming policy address 2024 - 25 in a bid to strategize a better blueprint for the future development of the city. Pray for divine wisdom, creativity and sensitivity for the government authorities to make the right policy decisions, particularly for the grassroots sector to be able to live a better quality of life. May God also nurture their spiritual well-being. Amen!
