Say thanks to all prayer warriors!

To comply with new requirements under the Employees Retraining Board (ERB) with effect from today, the installation of Windows 11 to upgrade our computers at some of our training centres was accomplished. Pray that we continue to give the best services for our trainees and retrainees in seeking permanent employment. Amen!

The United Nations has assigned today as World Autism Awareness Day to arouse public awareness towards autism since 2007. This year’s observance, under the theme "Advancing Neurodiversity and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)", showcasing how inclusive policies and practices can drive positive change for autistic individuals worldwide and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

Please pray for us as we continue to provide After School Care to children with special education needs.

The HK Diploma of Secondary Education Examination 2025 (HKDSE) just started this week. Around 40 of our student mentees of the Child Development Fund (CDF) will sit for this public exam. Pray that all of them will concentrate and work hard to attain their best results. May our Lord give them wisdom and strength. Amen!

Today is Ching Ming Festival (a.k.a. tomb sweeping day). Traditionally, Chinese people would visit and sweep the tombs of their ancestors. Many of our social services clients, especially new arrivals, will return to the mainland to pay their respects to their ancestors. Please pray for a safe and smooth journey for them.

Children under the care of our Mong Kok Service Centre (MKC) will be treated by some members of a local church to enjoy a light lunch at a fast-food chain today. Pray that more philanthropists will join hands with us to provide community care to kids from grassroots families. Amen!

The World Health Organization (WHO) signifies tomorrow as World Health Day with a view to stimulating global awareness of health as a human right. This year’s campaign, titled “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures”, will put special emphasis on healthy pregnancies and births, and better postnatal health. Pray that the governments and the health communities around the world will mobilize efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, and to prioritize women’s health and well-being in long-term because all these are the foundation of our hopeful future. Amen!

Our Ethnic Minorities Youth Ambassador Team (EMAm) continues its regular outreach activities in different parts of Hong Kong thrice a week. Pray that we strive to build a community that upholds cultural integration, mutual respect and understanding; and our clients will adapt to society through our constant efforts. Amen!.

The Diversity Hub at Chung King Mansions was smoothly opened last month. It is a mini museum to highlight the history and contributions of EM communities in HK; and the tour guides are the EM youth empowered by our enrichment programme. Pray that we endeavour to foster cross-cultural exchange and community cohesion through our ministry.

Praise God for the perfect weather when our 10th-batch CDF mentorship programme kick-off was held on 16th March. Hundreds of participants, including student mentees, their families and mentors joined the BBQ in Tai Po; and had a wonderful time. Pray that we aspire to broaden the horizons of our next generation, especially those from grassroots families, and promote a family connection filled with God’s love and hope through this 3-year mentorship programme. Amen!

Our 3-Legged Easter Island Adventure 2025 will be held tomorrow. This is also one of the events celebrating CA’s 40th anniversary. Many of our beneficiaries and service users will participate to share the happy and memorable moments. Pray that they will feel cared for and enriched by the community. May all participants be blessed to enjoy a wonderful adventure in nature. Amen!

Hooray! Today, our annual fundraiser - the 3-Legged Easter Island Adventure, will be held at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club. Pray for perfect weather and that we will arouse public concern towards the plight of the disadvantaged in HK and Qinghai through our booths and exhibitions; and many people will generously support our ministries.

Our Mong Kok Service Centre has recently extended the funding for the Enhanced After School Care Support Programme from a quota of 25 to 35 for primary school pupils from the disadvantaged sector. Pray that we toil to share part of the burden of these parents in taking care of their children as they must work long hours to make ends meet.

Our Ethnic Minorities (EM) service team of On Tai Service Centre (OTSC) held a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Chinese tutoring classes for EM youth in early April. The beneficiaries together with their parents and tutors joined to share the great moments over the past year and were grateful for what they have learnt. Pray for His wisdom to enrich our EM team to aid the EM youth to grow stronger and adapt better in the city. Amen!

During the Easter holidays, our CDF Mentorship Programme will launch different activities for the new 10th batch CDF programme. Pray for wisdom and insight for the team to plan ahead! Hopefully, this will open up a chance for establishing new friendships that embody Godly love and care for the children from the disadvantaged sector.

The Café Corner for health carers in our Sheung Shui Service Centre (SSC), served by welfare benefit clients from the Centre, will be opened twice this month. Hope that the beneficiaries will feel empowered and shed their burden and stress while the volunteers will learn empathy and what the scripture says about serving: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35

The shelter under our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme is presently undergoing renovation. Pray for the smooth and safe progress; and that the whole process will be finished on schedule. Eventually this will positively uplift our shelter clients as they endure anxious moments during the litigation process or sickness. Amen!

Today is Good Friday! May we meditate on the suffering and crucifixion of Jesus Christ and hope that we will be empowered by His word, His sacrificial example and His presence; and that we will persist in our vision and mission with passion and conviction even in times of adversity.

A young adult, who was adopted by an overseas family when she was a toddler, will return to Xining, Qinghai and pay a visit to the Children’s Home after all these years. Pray that she will have many memorable and great moments on this special trip. May our China team also be uplifted to serve the needy and poor children on the Tibetan Plateau. Amen!

This month, again our Social Enterprise Department is launching a series of Green Collection Charity Drives at different housing estates and other locations. Pray that lots of used and good quality items will be collected. These will be sold in our various charity outlets and the income will be used to support part of our meaningful work.

We are gradually launching our vocational training programmes under the Employees Retraining Board for this new fiscal year 2025/26. Pray that we labour to give our clients quality training and placement packages that enhance their competitiveness in the challenging job-market year after year.

The EMAm team has organized different sports activities for our EM youth, including bowling and cricket. They have also visited the largest indoor sports park in Hong Kong. Pray that this is a time of fun, where friendships are formed, and that the EM youth will gain insights into God’s love through our ministry.

This afternoon sees the board meeting and then the Annual General Meeting of the Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor (HKCNP). Mrs. Cheung will join in her capacity as a board director. Pray that the network will work hard to unite churches and Christian agencies to transform the community with Godly values and help to eliminate poverty in the city; and may His name be glorified. Amen!

On 29th April, our SSC will conduct an event, collaborated with a well-established bakery and cake chain stores, to recruit welfare clients to join its different stages of the production line including packaging and logistics. Pray that we motivate and equip them to re-enter the job market as permanent employees with vigor and hope.

On Tai Employment Support Services Centre (EmSS) continued to help explore the potential of our clients and enhance skills empowerment. In these 2 months, both music and instrument workshops will be conducted to unleash their potential so that they will live out their dreams with passion and confidence in the future. Amen!

Youth Ministry caring for the healthy growth of the young generation, a sub-group under the Justice and Social Concern Committee (JSCC), in which Mrs. Cheung serves as the chairperson, will hold a tea gathering to discuss youth suicide/mental health issues tomorrow. JSCC is one of the committees under the Hong Kong Christian Council (HKCC). Pray that its constant effort in taking care of the youth will instill the right attitude and mindset in all Christians and beyond. Amen!

CA has been granted by the Social Welfare Department to hold a flag day in the New Territories on 19 July 2025. May God bless us with a smooth preparation, volunteer recruitment and fund raising so that we attempt to render charity services for the underprivileged communities with love and hope. Amen!

This academic year, a total of 19 scholarships under our CASE programme (Christian Action Scholarship for Excellence) will be granted. We pray that these students can feel cherished and empowered through us as a Christian organization. Pray that more donors will join us to sustain this programme to become a long-term project supporting students from the deprived sector.
