Christian Action (CA) Christmas Party has been resumed as social distancing measures have been eased. Pray that it will progress smoothly, and all staff & board members will have fun and make sweet memories; and a sense of belonging will be fostered through celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and our Saviour, whom we look up to and rely on. Amen!

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Pray for increasing concern towards the disabled; and public awareness to embrace people with disabilities, with care and love. May God move more people to embrace our ministry on the Tibetan Plateau helping the disabled and disadvantaged children and youth.

CA helps to organize the Kwun Tong Civic Education Ambassadors Appreciation Ceremony Cum Constitution and Basic Law Learning Carnival. Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei JP, our Executive Director, will be one of the officiating guests. Pray that CA strives to promote social integration and harmony.

Last week saw our Social Enterprise Department launch an upcycling activity at our Green Connect. Pray that more corporates will partner with us under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative to deliver the message of environmental conservation.

The Sheung Shui Service Centre has just organized an excursion at Carer Hygge HOME for 10 service users who are also health caregivers. Pray that we help relieve their stress; and they would be empowered through our service.

Some ethnic minority children enjoyed an upcycling activity at the Mong Kok Service Centre sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board last month. Pray that we will collaborate with different organizations to promote racial harmony and facilitate social integration.

Give thanks to the volunteers from ICA, one of our partner churches, for co-organizing the English-speaking festival stressing on public speaking skills for children under our afterschool care programme at our Mong Kok Service Centre. Pray that this helps uplift their self-confidence and understand how precious they are in the eyes of our Lord.

Today is International Human Rights Day propagating the message of equality, dignity, and freedom for all humans in the world. Pray, in particular for the refugees and domestic helpers we serve, and that it reminds us to advocate harmony and inclusion transcending diversity in race, religion, and territory. Amen!

To commemorate “International Migrants Day” this Sunday, Mrs. Cheung, our Executive Director, has been invited to share her conviction - “Support Social Inclusion of Migrant Domestic Workers (MDWs) in HK” hosted by the Equal Opportunities Commission. Pray that her sharing and service will be salt and light to the community always.

Our On Tai Service Centre will hold a carnival this week for the neighborhood. And some of the student mentees under CDF9, having received the board games training, will host the games. Pray that they will unleash their potential and repay the community through the volunteer work.

6 current university freshmen, who were once under the care of our after-school care programme, will attend a scholarship presentation ceremony at our Mong Kok Service Centre today. Pray that they all feel treasured in the eyes of Our Lord; and uplifted to repay the community in future. Amen!

The Sheung Shui Service Centre is organizing a variety of activities including dessert making class, workshops on labour law, interviewing techniques and parenting skills, as well as an excursion for welfare recipients and other clients. Pray that more people will recognize our efforts to uplift the needy in the northern district of HK.

Our MDWs team is organizing various activities for clients at shelters to prepare for Christmas celebrations such as making festive cards from scrap paper and preserved flowers, baking Christmas pastries, etc. Pray we help to instill joy and sharing of God’s goodness during Christmas for all ladies working far away from their hometowns.

We have to diversify our fundraising income as most of the NGOs have been badly affected by the pandemic. Today is the last day that we placed donation boxes at the branches of a local fast-food chain. Pray that we reap a fruitful harvest to sustain our ministries in Hong Kong and Qinghai; and our goodwill will be spread across the city. Amen!

Please pray for our China programme team to continue the vocational training programme with varying adjustments despite the ups and downs brought on by COVID-19. Hopefully it will empower the youth on the Tibetan Plateau to live out a blessed and vibrant life.

Please pray that the disenfranchised and disadvantaged such as migrant domestic helpers or refugees who stay in Hong Kong by chance or by choice would feel cared for and not alone, especially at a time that reminds people of family reunions. Pray that they feel embraced by Godly love even when they are far from their hometowns.

Our Information Technology Department is preparing the webpage for our upcoming 3-Legged Charity Walk 2023 in late March. Pray for its smooth and successful launch; and that it will arouse a positive response to this annual fundraiser.

Massive unemployment or underemployment and economic downturn resulting from the pandemic has greatly aggravated the livelihood of grassroots families. Many of our clients under the Social Services Division are seriously affected by the current recession. Pray that we continuously garner enough financial support to spread hope and show mercy through our ministries. Amen!

Today our EM Ambassador team collaborating with 20 volunteers from the Education Bureau will join the programme themed “Social inclusion & STEAM programme” for our EM youth. Pray that they are enriched and are integrated into the community with ease through our ministry.

Year 2022 is coming to an end!

We are deeply grateful for God’s mercy, strength and protection against all odds and obstacles over the past year.
