Our Season of Love Charity Drive: a collaboration of “Couverture by Multizen” delicious cookies brand and “Beebipeace”, is in full swing till the end of this month. Pray for His blessings to reap a bountiful harvest to sustain part of our charity work and bring sweetness to the hearts of many vulnerable children in Hong Kong and Qinghai. Amen!

Answered prayer
Our Jordan Training Centre was officially opened and well attended by some government officials and special guests last month. Pray that we strive to enrich more job seekers and trainees looking for career advancement through our training/ retraining programmes and updated job market information.

To share the festive blessings, we are launching the Chinese New Year blessing bag initiative specially for the CA Emergency Food Programme for the Poor till 20 January 2023. Pray that we garner support to sustain our ministry for disadvantaged families. Amen!

Our Sheung Shui Service Centre will organize an activity for clients to promote training courses under the Employees Retraining Board in the fields of medical care and catering this morning. Pray that we strive to equip them to live a purposeful and independent life.

Tomorrow afternoon our Ethnic Minorities (EM) Ambassador team will conduct an experiential activity known as “Green Plus Farming” in Tai Po sponsored by a corporate partner for some EM children. Pray that we are able to collaborate with different private enterprises to serve the marginalized sector in the community. Amen!

Our Migrant Domestic Workers Programme team will organize a New Year celebration for shelter clients and supporters today. Pray that we help to relieve the stress of the clients, and that they would feel cared for and loved through our ministry.

Please pray for one of our student mentees under the Child Development Fund (CDF), who was recently diagnosed with epilepsy and has become increasingly stressed as full day school has resumed. May she be blessed with His peace, mercy, and comfort whenever she feels challenged and will receive appropriate medical treatment.

Subsequent to the stricter government policy on refugee/asylum seeker appeals against deportation orders, our clients of the Centre for Refugees (CFR) have become stressed. Please pray for more pro-bono counsellors as our CFR has to address the increasing needs of refugees and asylum seekers. Amen!

This morning, our Long Ping Service Centre will organize a prayer meeting for mentors under the CDF Mentorship Programme. May God bless the mentor-and-mentee relationship; and that we help instill Godly values in the younger generation who would be inspired to seek God through our endeavor.

Pray that the beneficiaries will feel God’s love and care through our ministry; and will also be uplifted by the power of reading.

The On Tai Service Centre will co-organize a seminar themed “When your children feel annoyed" or "當子女說你好煩" with Breakthrough Counselling Centre for 70 parents of our 9th phase CDF (CDF9) mentorship programme today. Pray that we strive to impart the importance of intergenerational communication, and that all participants would live blissful lives that our Lord has destined for them.

The HK Christian Council, in which Mrs. Cheung-Ang Siew Mei, JP, our Executive Director serves as a member on its Executive Committee, will attend its regular bi-monthly meeting tomorrow. Pray that all churches from different denominations in HK and Christian organizations would be unified as one Body to withstand future challenges. Amen!

Echoing STEM education, our On Tai Service Centre recently organized a flight simulator experience for some primary school students. Pray that we continue to partner with different stakeholders to coach children from disadvantaged families to pursue a colourful God-pleasing life. Amen!

Today our Long Ping Service Centre will organize a workshop for 20 mentees under the CDF9 mentorship programme to experience a simulation of being blind. Pray that the children will personally learn compassion and empathy through this experiential workshop.

This morning sees a meeting for the Hong Kong Church Network for the Poor (HKCNP). Mrs. Cheung will join in her capacity as an Executive Committee member of the HKCNP. Pray that the network would shine in the city and present a unified testimonial for Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

The Social Enterprise Department continues to conduct green collection events in different private housing estates in Kowloon this month. Pray that we help promote environmental conservation through our persistent efforts.

Blessed year of the Rabbit!
When we celebrate family reunions, marginalized sojourners particularly refugees and some migrant domestic workers living in our shelters have to bear daily mental and emotional stress during the festive season. May they be personally comforted by God’s presence and protection. Amen!

This week sees 2023 Week of prayer for Christian Unity (from 18 to 25 January), themed “Do Good; Seek Justice” Isaiah 1:17. The event will be attended by hundreds of clergy and staff members from different denominations, churches and Christian organizations. Pray for the smooth implementation and presentation of unity for Christ’s church.

Let us commemorate the “International Day of Education” today. Pray that more people would be aroused to show concern for children of stranded refugees in HK, that they will have equal access to formal education as a means to break the vicious cycle of poverty, and to attain a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Our Ethnic Minorities (EM) Ambassador team will organize an activity titled “Central Photography” today where 12 EM children will have a photo walk in Central. Pray that it will help them in self-exploration to unleash their potential; and facilitate them to get integrated into the community more easily.

The On Tai Service Centre CDF9 team will start an 8-session basketball training programme for 12 student mentees this evening, in collaboration with the HK Basketball Sport Ministry. Pray that our younger generation would be coached to seek God and live a grateful life through the initiative.

Let us commemorate the Day of Human (a.k.a. “Renri” which is the 7th day of Chinese New Year) today. Our Mong Kok Service Centre will host a lunch party at a restaurant in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre sponsored by a well-established corporation for 20 child clients. Pray that all of them will enjoy the feast and feel cherished as their families can hardly afford such a feast with their meagre income.

Our annual 3-Legged Charity Walk will be launched by the end of March at the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club! May God bless us with another successful event to raise funds for the underprivileged children in Hong Kong as well as the disabled and deprived children in Qinghai and that more people will know about CA and the work we do.

During the pandemic, many grassroots families have been seriously affected by the economic recession. Pray that our consistent effort in better equipping job seekers would be recognized and appreciated as we believe in training them and building their skills instead of just finding jobs for them.
